Last Updated on: 29th February 2024, 11:34 am

You may need to donate furniture for many different reasons. You could be getting ready to move and need to unload a few unwanted items to downsize or make space for new furniture. You could be planning a remodel and want to swap out your old decor for something more modern.

Perhaps you inherited a home, or you’re helping an elderly relative relocate, and you need to donate the used furniture quickly. Luckily, many reputable organizations offer furniture donations in Akron with pickup. Donating furniture to charity not only clears out space, it also makes you feel good knowing that your unwanted possessions are going to someone who needs them. You don’t even have to leave your home when you schedule a furniture donation with free pickup.

Plus, furniture donations are also a tax write-off. So keep a receipt and charge fair market value on your goods. Fair market refers to the general price someone would pay for the item if it were in its current condition. The IRS has more information about how to get a tax write-off for donating furniture to charity. Goodwill also has resources available as well.
